Discover the Pokémon TCG Mega Evolution Trail at Lanhydrock near Bodmin, Cornwall, from Saturday 23 May.

The Pokémon TCG Mega Evolution Trail invites families to Lanhydrock for a playful way to build confidence outdoors, enjoy fresh air and create shared family memories while searching for ten Mega Evolution Pokémon across ten trail points.

Each trail point features a simple physical or creative challenge inspired by different Mega Evolution Pokémon. From showing courage and curiosity with Darkness-type Mega Gengar ex, to unleashing energy and imagination inspired by the powerful Fire-type Mega Charizard Y ex, the trails blend imaginative play with gentle activity.

A trail sheet will help young trainers keep track of their discoveries and at the end of the trail, explorers can celebrate their achievement together with a photo opportunity at a Pokémon TCG Mega Evolution Trail backdrop.

The Pokémon TCG Mega Evolution Trails are exclusive to the National Trust and are included with standard National Trust admission (free for NT members) and run in line with local May Half Term dates.

Families visiting Lanhydrock this May half term can make a full day of it, with plenty more to enjoy beyond the Pokémon TCG Mega Evolution Trail. Alongside the trail, children can get creative with Pokémon-themed crafts in the Thatched Cottage, challenge family members to traditional lawn games on the croquet lawn, and enjoy space to run, play and explore across the gardens, parkland and woodland estate.

When it’s time to refuel, families can choose from two cafés on site including the Park Café, located next to the play area, and the Stables Café in the courtyard, both offering children’s options. There’s also plenty to browse, from gifts and children’s books in the shop and plant centre to Lanhydrock’s much-loved second-hand bookshop, with an additional pop-up bookshop by the Park Café on Bank Holiday Monday.

Lanhydrock is well set up for family visits, with free entry for under 5s, baby changing facilities, buggy-friendly routes through the gardens, a play area and hands-on activities designed to keep younger visitors engaged throughout the day.

Inside the house, families can step into the Victorian nursery, where children can enjoy imaginative play with board games, theatre props and Punch the rocking horse, alongside exploring the historic kitchens and family-friendly activities woven throughout the house route.

Beyond the formal gardens, the wider estate offers even more opportunities for adventure, from walking and cycling trails to open parkland perfect for picnics and games, riverside walks and wildlife spotting around the Victorian swimming pool.
